BBC World Service can be received on digital FM 90.2 and Satellite Hot Bird 2-13º East.

The main BBC stations and other English-language radio can also be received via many satellite TV installations or over the Internet. Previously broadcast programmes can often be listened to again or downloaded.

Radio on the Internet

Many international radio stations are available streamed live on the Internet. You typically need RealPlayer (Real Player Basic, the free version, is rather hidden away on the real.com website, but it does exist) although sometimes a feed is available in Windows Media format, compatible with the players that have shipped with recent versions of Windows and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Television

It is possible to access UK-based free-to-air (FTA) programming on the same satellite that broadcasts Sky Digital. Please note, however, that there is no legal way to access encrypted programming on that satellite while in Spain (such as Sky Digital's premium channels accessible only through a Sky subscription package, or those channels that may only be watched in the UK using a satellite receiver with a free-to-view - FTV - card installed).

• Costa Blanca Lifestyle Magazine is a full colour, freely distributed magazine with articles on travel, food, beauty and the positive aspects of life on the Costa Blanca. Online edition also available
• Costa Blanca News is the Costa Blanca's oldest English-language publication. Published weekly, it covers Spanish and local news stories, community news, local sports and has a large classified section

• Round Town News is a free newspaper with news, sports, health and beauty, news, cookery, gardening, motoring and more features. It is published weekly and is available on the Costa Blanca, in Murcia and the Canaries
• The Opportunity Spain is a specialist free publication focusing on business and recruitment. It is available monthly from supermarkets, estate agents and other distribution points on the Costa Blanca
• The Essential Guides produces four different publications covering property and land for sale, skilled tradesmen and services, food and bars, and professionals and their services. The guides are available in bars and advertiser's premises on the Costa Blanca
• Think Spain Today is a weekly newspaper with local news and sports and finance features covering the Costa Blanca and the Costa Cálida
