Animal Associations in Spain

ANAA (Asociación Nacional Amigos de los Animales) is a national animal organisation founded in Madrid. It campaigns to protect animals, encourage responsible ownership, prevent cruelty and animal shows. In addition ANAA attempts to re-home abandoned and unwanted pets in Spain

• S.P.A.P de Alcoy: The objectives of this organisation are to prevent animal cruelty, promote awareness and campaign for better treatment of animals. It collects homeless animals and re-houses them with the aim to not destroy any animals unless veterinary advice forces it. The centre is run by volunteers and donations. The website has pictures of the animals looking for adoption as well as pictures posted by owners who have lost pets
