- Alta Velocadad is the high-speed train
network which operates from northern to southern Spain via Madrid, it does not
pass through the Costa Blanca region.
- Grandes Líneas
is the governing service
for medium length journeys between cities. In the Costa Blanca region Alaris,
Arco, EuroMed and Trenhotel operate the trains.
- Regionales
is the regional train network

The FGV Costa Blanca Railways
The FGV
(Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valencia) operates the fleet
of trains and trams in Valencia province and the Costa Blanca region.
The
service runs from Alicante to Denia via Benidorm and Altea.

Alicante Metro/Tram Network
When complete in 2007, the Alicante tram network, Tram Metropolitano de Alicante,
will cover the main area of the city and the built up costal
area from Alicante to Benidorm and Altea. At present some routes are open.

Murcia & Alicante Region Cercanías
A map of the Murcia/Alicante Cercanía network includes parking and bus connections for each
station
Valencia Region Cercanías
A map of the Valencia Cercanía network shows the different
zones and routes available, with metro (tram), bus and parking facilities for
each station.
Pets on trains
- Dogs, cats and domestic animals may travel on RENFE
trains BUT
- Animals are not allowed on trains between 13:00 and 16:00 Monday to Friday
(although they may travel at any time on public holidays and weekends)
- It is not necessary to keep the animal in a cage although the animal must not be able to run around
- Where applicable dogs must wear a muzzle
- The person accompanying the animal is responsible for it on the journey
- Pets can travel for free
Bicycles on trains
Bicycles may be taken on RENFE trains depending on the route.

Reductions & Discounts
- Children under 4 travel free on RENFE
trains
- A reduction of 40% is given on the price of a single or return ticket for under
twelves.
- Group discounts are available but apply only if the group is making the same journey at the same
time on the same date
- Tarjeta Dorada (Golden Ticket) is available for pensioners (over 60) and
people with a 65% or more disability. The ticket qualifies you for a 40%
reduction on the price of single or return journeys any day of the week. Those
accompanying a disabled traveller also receive the discount.
- Family discounts are also available but are dependent on family size and
circumstance. You will need to ask for further details
